Currently following email readers are supported:
Gmail
To enable an App Password for a Gmail account, follow these steps:T
NOTE: You must have Two-Step Verification (2FA) enabled on your Gmail account. App Passwords are only available if 2FA is turned on.
Step 1 :
Enable Two-Step Verification (if not already enabled):
Go to Google Account Security Settings.
Under “Signing in to Google”, enable 2-Step Verification if it’s not already enabled.
Follow the steps to set up 2-Step Verification, such as adding a phone number for SMS verification.
Step 2 :
Access the App Passwords Section:
Go to the App Passwords page directly: https://myaccount.google.com/apppasswords.
Log in to your Google account if prompted.
Step 3 :
Generate an App Password:
On the App Passwords page, under “Select app”, choose Mail or select Other (Custom) and type a custom name (e.g., “Perimeters email”).
Under “Select device”, choose your device or leave it as the default.
Click Generate.
A 16-character app password will appear. Copy it.
To enable an App Password for an Outlook account (or any Microsoft account), follow these steps:
NOTE: You must have Two-Step Verification (2FA) enabled on your Microsoft account. App Passwords are only available if 2FA is turned on.
Step 1 :
Enable Two-Step Verification (if not already enabled):
Go to your Microsoft Account Security Settings.
Under Advanced security options, find Two-step verification.
Click Turn on and follow the prompts to enable Two-Step Verification. You'll need to add a secondary authentication method, like a phone number or authenticator app.
Step 2 :
Access the App Passwords Section:
After enabling 2FA, go back to the Microsoft Account Security Settings.
Advanced security options, scroll down to App passwords.
Click Create a new app password.
Step 3 :
Generate an App Password:
A 16-character app password will appear on the screen.
Copy the app password. (You won't be able to see it again, so save it if needed.)
